How do I use Parachutes.org?
Begin by creating an account with a unique username. Once logged in, fill out your profile, join a parachute or create a new one, jump into a Workshop session, or just browse around for inspiration.
What is a Parachute?
A Parachute is an organized body of users. Parachutes can represent any kind of organization: schools, classes, clubs, businesses, teams, etc.
Who can create a Parachute?
Any registered user can create a Parachute.
If you have a school/class/club/organization/business, hook it up!
Who can join a Parachute?
All Parachutes are open to all users. As the site develops, more advanced invite options will be available.
What is the Workshop? What can I do there?
The Workshop is a synchronous, multi-user A/V environment. It can be used for any kind of online meeting. Any user can start a Workshop session; the creator will have Admin privileges.
Can I participate in more than one Workshop session at a time?
Yep. Each Workshop session is considered a "room" and can be navigated by tabs at the top of your Workshop page.
Can I review past Workshop sessions?
It's up to the Admin of a Workshop to decide how a Workshop session gets logged (saved). Workshop sessions are publicly logged by default, which means that you can review workshops even if you didn't participate in them. Workshop sessions can also be logged privately (limited to participants).
For now, logging is text-only.
Can other users see my profile?
Right now, everything on the site is public. You can see everyone and everyone can see you.
More advanced privacy options will be available when people start misbehaving.
